   Proposal Description:
   Our project is geared at analyzing the basic causes of AD, including sub-dividing AD into data-driven subsets. In this project, we will test the following hypotheses: 1) White matter changes as measured via neuroimaging and neuropathology represent key early biomarkers of AD progression. 2) White matter changes in AD and other AD neuropathology measures are heavily influenced by the sex of the patient. 3) White matter changes and sex-dependent susceptibility can be partially explained by genetic factors, which will allow us to sub-divide AD patients into groups based on their unique genetic susceptibility to AD.
